Due to the continuation of drought condition in southern Idaho and the historically low reach gains in the Snake River below the Blackfoot river gauge, The natural flow in the Snake River that makes up nearly 80% of the water supply for the Twin Falls Canal Company water users continues to significantly decline. The Twin Falls Canal Company announced today July 25, 2022 that deliveries to water users on the Twin Falls Canal Company tract will be reduced from 5/8 of a miner’s inch per share to ½ of a miner’s inch per share starting on August 1st 2022. This reduction in water deliveries is necessary to ensure that the companies storage water supply will extend throughout the end of the growing season. Water users are encouraged to be conservative with their water and work together with their ditch riders to facilitate turnoffs at times when they aren’t using their water.
