March 27, 2026 – The Twin Falls Canal Company opened the gates at Milner Dam Wednesday March 25 to begin charging the system and preparing to make deliveries to water Users for the 2026 irrigation season. We originally intended to make water available for delivery the week of April 13th, but as the warm and dry temperatures persist, we recognize that things are very dry. With that realization we have adjusted our water delivery schedule and will make water available for delivery the week of April 6th , as needed. With many miles of canals to burn and charge, this is a very aggressive schedule, and Ditch Riders and crews have been working hard to make sure we are ready. Please communicate with your watermaster’s and Ditch Riders to order water and try to be patient as we get the system up and running for the upcoming season. Deliveries will start at 5/8 of an inch per acre due to the poor snowpack expected low natural flow in the Snake River. We will be monitoring the reach gains and the natural f low conditions and adjust as necessary with the hope of not having to go to ½ inch later in the season.
